Refresh by Rev. Dr. Bobbie Yellott

19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, 20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, (Acts 3:19-20)

I learned about the “Refresh” key on the computer when I was embroiled in last-minute bidding wars on Ebay. After making a bid, I’d have to hit “refresh” to see if anyone had topped my bid. The refresh key served to update; it deleted the previous data, replacing it with the most up-to-date information.

How comforting it is to know that “times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” When God hits the refresh key, our past mistakes, our sins, are blotted out; they’re deleted and replaced by updated information – we are forgiven. God has sent “the Christ appointed for you, Jesus” to make all things new.
