Disaster Relief
Regional Service Project - May 2025
In 2023, a deadly EF-4 tornado devastated Rolling Fork, destroying hundreds of homes, including much of the affordable rental housing in this rural community.
Week of Compassion and The Great River Region is partnering with “Rolling Fork Rising” to build new homes and create opportunities for homeownership for renters displaced by the tornado. We will be serving the week of May 18-24, 2025, as a Region. The next week, May 25-31, 2025, is also available to work with Week of Compassion. Dan and Zena Marshall from Fort Smith will be our worksite coordinators. You can come as individuals or get a group from your church, but please know the spots are limited for each week.
Join our group of volunteers helping to rebuild Rolling Fork. By actively participating in the rebuilding process, you not only lend your helping hand to those in need but also join a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to making a lasting impact.
The shared sense of purpose fosters a supportive environment where camaraderie flourishes, creating friendships that extend beyond the project’s duration.
As a volunteer, you will not only witness the tangible transformation of the town but also experience personal growth, developing new skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the issues facing communities in need.
