Join the Great River Region in a three-part workshop to re-acquaint congregations with the spiritual roots of evangelism.

We will explore ways to engage members and seekers in our communities regarding spiritual needs, faith, and sharing the Good News.

Workshop Dates and Times

Saturday mornings from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

 

Session 1 – February 11, 2023, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 

  • Reimagining evangelism
  • Consider the changes in our society and its effect on religion in America
  • How do we lay the groundwork for sharing the Gospel?
  • How can we share the Good News with people who need the unconditional love of God?

Session 2 – March 18, 2023, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 

  • Do we as Christians and Disciples of Christ Congregations have what people need?
  • How do we engage those in spiritual need with our faith and witness
  • Reflection and small group discussion

Session 3 – April 22, 2023, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 

  • Where do we go from here?
  • How do we share experiences which engage people with the Gospel?
  • Reflection and small group discussion

Facilitators

Rev. Vanessa Falgoust, M.Div., M.F.A.

Rev. Vanessa J. Falgoust is a native of Hammond, LA. In her youth, she attended FCC Hammond and was encouraged by her pastor to pursue an education at Texas Christian University, where she majored in religion and philosophy. She also went on to earn her M.Div. at Yale University.

With a passion for helping others, Vanessa served in ministry as a missionary in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo), parish ministry, and healthcare chaplaincy. Her last ministry position was as a hospice chaplain.

Vanessa is married to her husband, Alan Cox, an accomplished professional classical musician. During their years in Virginia, Alan taught at the University of Virginia, and she served two congregations of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Rev. Vanessa Bostick, M.Div.

Vanessa Bostick serves our Lord as Senior Minister of First Christian Church in Little Rock, AR. She is a Phillips Theological Seminary Graduate. Her passions in christian fellowship is Evangelism and Disciples Women’s Fellowship. She serves on the GRR Executive Board and the GRR DWF Board.
